"Custom Gear Shift Knob"

Hello all,
Well it's time to part with this one.
What we have here is a Custom Gear Shift Knob I recently made.
This is the 2nd. of two, and my Father is already sporting the other in his 30 Ford.
6061-T6 Aluminum geodesic sphere with .156 thick Copper inlays.
Weight is 7 ounces.
One facet has been drilled, and tapped, and has a 3/8-16 stainless steel helicoil installed.
What, you don't have a Hot Rod to put it in? I suppose it would make a nifty paper weight then...:)
Price on this is $150.00 USA, and $165.00 to other worldly destinations. !!SOLD!!
Shoot me an Email if you're interested in making a purchase.
On a side note, I'll be at the shop tomorrow, so stay tuned as a Nubuli or two may make an appearance by weeks end.
Enjoy the photos,
Kenn

Wes,

I would love to get a Nebuli with some copper or brass inlays.

The work on this knob with copper inlays is flawless. No seams with the inlays...

Incredible work!

Inlay Nebuli.....hmm.

John,
I learned a Machinists trick long ago to "plug" a hole that was drilled in the wrong location.
I used that process w/ the Copper inlays in the knob.
One or two isn't bad, but what's there 27 or 31 facets on the knob w/ the inlays? Yeah, that took awhile;)

Kenn,

Pictures do not do justice for this knob. I will have to check the number of facets, but with all of the facets with inlay--WoW--incredible amount of work...

I am so glad to own this beautiful machined art...
Now, if the planets align that I get to buy the '68 all stock GTO that is being stored in a pole barn, that would be an amazing occurrence!

Thank you!

John,
Each time I would count the facets I would loose my place...lol
There's a lot:)

Hey, good luck on the GTO.
It's hard to believe that you can still find classics in old barns these days.

Kenn,

I will have to do a pencil and paper count of the facets. I am not at home computer, right now...

The widow has not made a decision to sell the GTO. I have drooled next to this car for the past 11 years...It is stored properly.
It has been waxed and cared for....A buddy of mine owns the pole barn where the GTO is stored, and how I get to see it...
It would be incredible to get it on the road. It is incredible the condition it is in.
Believe me a lot of people would know if I bought this.
